29thTrip - Last Trip of the Season

Mon, November 16, 2009. Yes, it was COLD outside. But Remember: "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A COLD DAY. IT'S CALLED DRESSING INADEQUATELY!!!". So Aaron, Tony, Alfred and I decided to go fishing one last time this season. It was the first time all year we didn't catch a single fish - but it was still great to be out! =)

28th Trip - Fall Camping Trip!!!

October 7-9, 2009.

Some think we are crazy. Others think its just too cold. But remember these wise words: "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A COLD DAY, IT'S CALLED DRESSING INADEQUATELY!". So Tony, Alfred, Josh Wong and I set off on our annual fall camping trip. Our attempts to get into the Lake Y failed. So we decided to head back to our regular Secret fly in Fishing Lake X. The Fall Colors were amazing and the Fishing was great! It also poured heavily on day 2. Was it worth it? Of course!!!

26th Trip - Bay of Quinte Walleyes!!!!

Sept 8, 2009.

Captain and Pastor Aaron Owen really knows his fishing. He graciously took Alfred, Desmond and I to the Bay of Quinte for a day of fishing. It's his "home lake" and he knows it just as well as I know Lake Simcoe. The fishing was GREAT! We caught a few nice walleyes and lots of nice sized Bass. Memories last forever. Thank-you again Aaron!!! (I'll take you out this winter on the sleds for some GIANT Simcoe Whitefish and Lake Trout!)

25th Trip - Downrigging Lake Ontario!

Another great fishing outing? You bet! I was fortunate to have been invited by Garry Lam to go out for a morning of fishing on his friend's big boat. We were on Lake Ontario and the plan was to use downriggers to catch some of those big brutes. We set off early in the morning and the view of downtown Toronto from the lake was amazing. I think we caught a total of 15 BIG fish including 1 brown trout. A BIG THANKS to Garry's friend Ron for a GREAT day out!!!! =)

24th trip - Let's go Camping!

Let's go camping! Drive-to camp sites aren't the best places to go camping at - but its really the people you go with that makes the trip worthwhile and memorable. With time being limited, Jono, Chris, Adrian, and I we decided to go camping on Lake Simcoe. Fishing was very slow as a cold front moved in the day before. We only managed a handful of small fish. Even snorkeling underwater to find the fish didn't work so well this time.

Clean fresh air and being surrounded by God's beautiful creation is what brought us all together. I'm thankful for the opportunity and fellowship we had sitting on the beach with the stars and moon shining brightly.

Nice to be out on the water!

23rd Trip - Welcome Chris Tan!

The day started a little gloomy. It was 4:30am and the weather wasn't co-operating at all. We decided to still go for it so Jon Lee and Chris met at my house by 5am and we quickly headed up to the lake. Then it started raining some more so we ended up waiting/sleeping in the car for a few hours until the rain subsided. The weather then held up nicely and it was definitely a nice day to be out.

This was Chris Tan's FIRST TIME EVER going fishing so it nice to be able to share with him our passion. His first cast actually went negative 2 feet backwards. But from there, he quickly learned and started to master the art of fishing. Chris was able to land lots of sunfish, rockbass, perch, and also a few small bass. Though the fishing was a bit on the slow side today, Jon was still able to land a MONSTER LARGEMOUTH BASS - and I mean a true MONSTER! After a few quick photos, it was released to swim another day (Conservation is very important!!!). Jon Lee truly is an AWESOME FISHERMAN!!!! =)

Cheers!

22nd Trip - Taking Dad Fishing!!! AWESOME!!!!

So Derek calls me up at 9am and says "let's go fishing! Steph and Dad also had the day off so I said "Let's go!". It was the first time in 15+ years since I've went fishing with Dad. I remember the days where I would wait impatiently for 5:30pm to roll around when Dad would come home from work. We would then head up to the lake for some fishing as the sun set in the horizon. Those were some GREAT MEMORIES! It was AWESOME being able to take Dad out for some fishing! I'm glad to have the opportunity to have come full circle. Now I'm looking forward to taking him on the snowmobiles for some ice fishing!!! YEAH!!!

As usual, we were able to catch some BIG FISH, and also LOTS of them too! It was also my first time this year snorkeling and its was also GREAT! Check out what else I was doing underwater - haha - CHEERS!

21st Trip - Yeah!!!!

Another GREAT trip! We hit Lake Simcoe again as it's only 40 minutes from the city. With the 30+ degrees heat, we decided to get an early start by leaving by 5am (which meant a 4:15 wake up call - yikes!). We welcome Jasmine's sister Carmen to the club! It didn't take long for us to find the fish. Yeah!!!

We welcome Welcome Sybil and Eddie (from L.A), and Dom and Jasmine to the club! It was nice being able to take the cousins out for a spin on the lake and to do some fishing. Although we didn't catch any monster fish, we still caught lots and had a GREAT time on the water. Enjoy!
