15th Trip - Another new Member!

We welcome Daniel Wu as the newest member of the Asian Christian Fish Club! It was only a few years ago that my friend Marika was telling me about a young kid who really wanted to learn more about fishing. Well, a year later and Daniel now knows how to both drive a snowmobile and ice fish, and also catch lots of fish on the lake.

So it was another GREAT trip! The day started early by getting up at 4am again. We made it to the lake and launched the boat just as the sun started to rise above the horizon. The rest was history as we caught a lot of Nice sized Bonus bass and lots of panfish including some really BIG rockbass. Just getting out again for some fresh air and fellowship was great!

Time to take a little break- but still looking forward to the next trip. All are welcome to experience the GREAT outdoors with a marine biologist as your personal fishing guide and captain!!! =)

14th Trip - 2 Lovely Ladies and Enoch

ANOTHER GREAT TRIP!!! We warmly welcome our 2 newest members to the Asian Christian Fishing Club - Michelle and Victoria! They both have a GREAT attitude and outlook on experiencing the wonderful world of God's creation on the water. Michelle has no fear of worms while Tori has no fear of fish! However, Tori is afraid of worms while Michelle is afraid of fish. Hahaha - but they make a good tag team! Props to them as well for waking up bright and early at 4:15am to come out. It was awesome taking out 2 fishing noobs to experience the beauty of the great outdoors. It's so PEACEFUL and CALM out there - and yet it's also great FELLOWSHIP and EXCITING when we catch LOTS of Fish! Enoch also came out again and improved his fishing skills.

The "Ron Guarantee" was easily met as we all as we caught TONS of fish - including Tori's 13"+ MONSTER perch, lots of Round Gobies (invasive species!), and a GIANT 4lb Largemouth Bass. We also missed a BIG Pike at the boat as Enoch missed it with the net. Props also goes to Enoch who is now a professional at backing up the boat (I mean Yacht)trailer into the water.

It was another INCREDBILE TRIP!!! CHEERS!

The morning started off like this...

13th Trip - As always, Marine Biologists ALWAYS get their Fish!

Watching the sunrise come up over the horizon is one of those things that leave you in awe each time. That's how the day started and the weather was amazing as well. Alfred, Enoch, Jess Lam, and I had a great morning of fishing and boating on the lake. The "Ron Guarantee" was in full effect again and everyone caught lots of fish as usual. The day's total included tons of sunfish, bluegill, perch, rock bass, some nice bonus largemouth and smallmouth bass (all quickly released of course), and also a nice Pike! As Always, Marine Biologists ALWAYS get their fish. YEAH!

Enjoy the pics - Cheers!

The Day started out like this: BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE ON THE LAKE!

Just one of many that Jess caught today! Smile!

12th Trip - Fishing with a Pastor!

I finally got the chance to fish with another "hardcore" fisherman today - Pastor Aaron Owen! We took his boat out east to the Bay of Quinte and we had a BLAST! The weather in the morning was simply amazing and the lake was glass calm. Though the weather changed dramatically in the late afternoon as the rain started to pour down heavily on us. But no worries! Rain ain't gonna stop us from continuing to do what we love to do (only lightning and extreme weather would). Soaking in the beautiful scenery and fresh air was great too. In the end we caught a few "hammer handle" pike, about a dozen nice size bonus largemouth bass, a variety of small panfish, and also 1 GIANT WALLEYE!!!! WHAT A RUSH!!!

Even though I'm known to people as a fishing guru and expert, there's still always more to learn and experience. Today I learned a lot about boating and fishing from Aaron. You can read tons of books and watch tons of videos, but nothing beats learning from someone first hand. Having a humble attitude and open ears in life are important character traits that will always lead towards positive experiences. Anyways, enjoy the pics - onward to the next trip!

11th Trip - Whitefish, Lake Trout and More!

We welcome Jess Lam as the newest member of the ACF Club! The day started early again as Alfred, Enoch, Jess, and I met at the lake by sunrise. The weather was great and we were able to catch TONS of fish again. This was Jess's first time out on a boat and she even caught her first ever Giant Lake Simcoe Whitefish! Alfred also caught his first ever Lake Trout. Way to go TEAM! Being out on the water again today with good friends was simply amazing. I'm glad that we all had a good time and that I can continue to share with others my passion and love for the great outdoors. CHEERS!

10th Trip - So why not?

So I get a call in the morning from Jon Lee and he said "YOU WENT FISHING AGAIN???!!!". He had just read the fishing blog and was even more eager to go again. So I said "why not go again right? The lake is only a short 10 minutes away and the weather was Beautiful. LOL! So a few hours later Jon arrives at my place to load the canoe on and we head to the lake for another quick trip. We easily catch over 100+ crappie again and also one Big Largemouth Bass (which was quickly and safely released again). Onward to the next trip! =)

9th Trip - Crappie Day!!!

The weather was BEAUTIFUL TODAY!!! So why not call out Wilson and Andrew for a quick afternoon fishing trip? This time we took the canoe out to the local lake only 10 minutes from my place. The fishing was NON-STOP!!! We probably got over 100+ crappie easily within a short 2 hours of fishing. Only a handful of crappie were kept as the rest were released to swim again. The Ron Guarantee was in effect and was easily met within 30 seconds of our fist cast- yay!

8th Trip - WHOOOO HOOOOO!

WHOOOO HOOOOO!!! The day started at 5:15 AM and we again had a BLAST! Watching the sunrise on the way to the lake was nice and it was just great to be out again. The fishing was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We got tons of panfish and even more bonus MONSTER BASS. And I'm talking about some REAL GIANTS. I couldn't believe just how aggressive the fish were everywhere we went. Bass season isn't open yet so we quickly and safely released them all after a quick photo. We also got 2 BIG Whitefish and probably lost 10+ more as well. It was another great trip! Thanks Jon and Albert!

And for the record, everyone who has ever stepped onto the boat has always caught fish. YAY!
